A little over a week later and I'm back to say; ,thanks for the excellently helpful pointers, it works ! Two hook ups. One fish spat the hook after swimming a few laps of the shore. Below is the other fish - 44cmish. Not a massive day but I rarely chase trout and this was at TCD. Of the few times I've been there, my catch count has most often been 0, occasionally 1.
