Help a newbie out- Central Coast NSW

Hey guys just signed up for the forum. Been on the central coast at foresters beach my whole life and always been fishing off the beaches/rocks etc. Long story short I've always been fairly keen on trying to catch a Bass/EP. I've tried throwing lures at every snag or structure on Wyong/Ourimbah creek without even seeing a fish let alone landing one. I've even gone past the weir at Ourimbah that looks like an old train bridge?

Anyway not looking for secret spots or anything like that just after a bit of advice and someone to point me in the right direction on how to catch my first bass/estuary perch.

If you could help me with things like

-best time of year

-what to look for

-right sort of gear to use

-signs there are even fish in the water system

Hey, I'm new to the Coast and did some Bass fishing at Burrinjuck and upper Reaches of the shoalhaven river and would love to know where I can go flick some lures for bass or EPs and teach my son. Any help would be appreciated thanks :-)

hey mate I have heard around the traps that you can catch EP's near the storm water pipes at Ettalong not sure how true it is tho but it was from an ex local.
