Fab1 Posted October 29, 2016 Share Posted October 29, 2016 Base plate removed exposing drive shaft seal.Not only will a bad prop shaft seal allow water into the gear case when compromised but so will this one.As you can see it looks like water has got in to the gear case where that rust is but it's only the drive shaft that's got surface rust which is normal as you'll see later. All cleaned up using a wire brush.So is the base plate and impellor housing making sure the impellor housing is nice and smooth.Time to inspect the used impellor for wear. continued part 7 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
