Kayakers close call

My niece that lives down the coast is looking at getting a Kayak.From what i've seen out on the water and online, they aren't the safest vessel to be in are they?

Prob safer to stay to the sides of creeks n rivers.

or have flags like mobility scooters.

all boils down to keeping a lookout for safety.

 Its the speeding boats fault I think.

I nearly got wiped out my a jet ski while on a kayak. I was on the Hawksebury, doing some fishing minding my own business, when some idiot comes flying down the river and passes me with less than a metre of clearance, nearly tipped over my kayak. Jet skiers People are just so inconsiderate.

hope it smashed the crap out of their boat....I have had a couple of close calls similar to that with boats and those damn jetskies......two jetskies played chicken with me flatout in blackneds bay Swansea..its a 4knot zone..after abusing them the idiot said what are ya gunna do  chase us ??.....nah I just rang waterways who came down and booked the crap out of them  haha is all I said as I paddled past with huge smile on my face...rick
