Berleyguts
I would say you can’t really repair it to it’s former state but you could rebuild it to a shorter rod. Strip it down, cut the blank off just below the break, buy a new tip guide to fit and reposition the other guides.
rickmarlin62
you now have a toothpick and a broomstick..it cant be repaired to original..you can fit new tip but its going to be a 8/15kg stick...take it to nearest tackle store and get a tip fitted if not capable yourself...rick
xerotao
Maybe insert a fibreglass or graphite ferrule and epoxy it together? there is no way the rod will ever feel the same

Best to rebuild it to a shorter heavier stick. A good tackle shop will do it but it’s a good chance to learn how to build a rod by having a go oneself! Vanders
Thanks everyone for your thoughts. I was hoping for a ferrule style repair, but it appears I'll have a new tough short stick when I'm done. Thanks again.
rickmarlin62
by inserting a repair piece or ferrule you are installing a stiff section in a soft bending section..result is breakage either side of stiff section...I have built rods for years and I know for fact it wont work...further down the blank near middle can work but not in the top third of blank..save your pennies for another vander..sorry....rick 1
