What FISH IS THIS !! (Southern Eagle Ray)

was walking down the beach the other day and come across this guy dead on the shore!

I've been trying to look but cant seem o find out what type of fish this is!

Let me know if possible cheers!

It's a common southern eagle ray, shame to see it left on the sand.

Fight as well as any fish that swims on light gear. We get a few of them fishing really shallow water for snapper

Thanks for shedding some light on it mate! Yeah don't know if it had been washed up but had no hooks or markings of being caught which was Odd

It was extremely heavy when l tried to lift it! As mentioned in the last comment had no hook marks or markings of being caught which was odd
