Fish Eggs in Sydney Harbour

Hi Raiders,

I know I am not giving you much to go off ( No phone , no camera) but  any ideas on what type of marine creatures belongs to the following eggs.

I went for my Sunday swim in the Harbour  (16 degrees  and one of those "why am I doing this" moments!)

There were masses of clear hard jelly eggs about 8 mm across with just a small black tadpole looking larvae inside.

The eggs were about 8mm in diameter and the larvae at this stage were probably about 3mm long.

Many of the eggs were in long strands while others were floating individually.

There were literally millions of them along Shark Beach at Neilsen Park and probably elsewhere I would imagine.

Hope there is enough info for an educated guess.

Cheers

Jim
