Guide to placing a Fishing report

Recommended Posts

A note to all Fishraiders when placing a fishing report!

Whilst we enjoy to see you good people out there catching fish and posting a report, just simply placing a picture to the report is not what fishraider is about!

The content you provide with your report is what makes this site stand out from all others!

It doesn’t have to be worded like journalist nor do we mind spelling mistakes etc etc but he are a few things that may help you construct a better report!

General area you were fishing?

what time did you leave and return?

What style of fishing were you doing?

What gear did you use?

Were you land based or from a boat?

These are just some simple pointers but the more content you provide, the more information EVERYONE can get out of it!

NOW, that’s what Fishraiders about!

If you need any further advice, please feel free to contact any of our mod team.

I just wanted to bump this thread as I think some people are just not really getting what placing a fishing report is all about!

While its great to showcase what you've caught for the day it is also to give other members information so they can then utilize it so I would say if your not willing to give the information then dont post the report!!

Some local (AU) fishing forums allow quick posting photos of recent catches with a short description into  the existing long  topic(i.e. similar to 'Introduce yourself' or 'my boat' topics on Fishraider) rather than creating a new  separate topic with full report.  I believe there is nothing wrong with that - as all those photos are kept in one place without overloading forum with new topics, and any further questions can be be asked directly via private messaging.

What annoys me is -  sometimes very immature responses to the questions asked in the report topics, and, well,  selfies on the stretched arms (those with the hands of the head's size).  If you are scared of the fish(and cant hold it closer) -  dont go fishing.

Savit, not sure about other forums I am referring to this one because that's all that counts, plus the report guidelines have been set out by a moderator in detail to follow not by me.

If anything to add to what scratchie has outlined I know Id like to hear even more info like tide, moon phase etc if applicable.

I don't expect people to give GPS marks as I wouldn't but at least elaborate on the details.
