What should I do and where should I go?( soft plastics preferably)

I’ve caught many estuary perch at ourimbah creek, one day we ended up with 56. But they were willing to eat anything. I’ve heard the ones down the entrance are larger, but I can’t seem to catch them, what should I do?

Hi,

EPs at The Entrance are a regular target during their season.

I once saw a bloke with a bucket full of them...I told him the legal limit and he just swore at me so I took a photo and contacted fisheries. I haven't seen him back there!

Flicking for flathead some years ago I snagged on something, slowly worked the lure in to find it had caught on a bit of rope. Pulled the rope in to find an illegal length of gill net in the navigation channel near Picnic Point. There were around 20 EPs, a decent Blue Swimmer and a very good flathead. Most were still alive so I released them all and hauled the net in leaving it hidden on the bank in a stand of she oaks. It was gone the next day.

A mate of mine who fishes for them regularly reckons that a bit of rain in the hinterland moves them down the system.
