Personally I've always preferred SP after a FR group lesson a few years back but have recently made a foray into the world of HB. Had to change the hooks though from bronzed. The Breams Hard mouth used to destroy the little hooks. There was another one we used called a Bass Magnet in the similar colour. blaxland Posted November 25, 2018 Share Posted November 25, 2018 Love lure fishing 2.5 squid jig, 10gm Halco chrome twisty, and minnow or jerk shad in plastics at the moment but I find I have binges on all sorts of lure and have success love trolling rapala with the metal bibs also. I bought a kayak about 12 months ago and have a self imposed rule that all my fishing out of the kayak is lure only (1. to keep my kayak clean of bait, but 2. to force me to improve my lure fishing). I'm still struggling to crack the secret of lures. It looks so easy, but i'm not finding consistency. I end up falling back to SPs - can't beat a curly tail grub in motor oil! The only lure I get consistent results with is the Daiwa Double Clutch. Flatties just love them, and this is my first choice lure. Only drawback on them is the cost, but they work. Scratchie Posted November 26, 2018 Share Posted November 26, 2018 Chasing snapper- 5-7 inch gulp or zmans shads. Change colours with the seasons Flatty- squidgy wrigglers 100mm or squidgy fish. Then sometimes gulp 5 inch in bleeding pilchard! 👍 Hardbodies- bream, flatty and whiting river2sea 45mm in various colours. Cheers scratchie!!!
