What is that hook?

Hi All,

I got some hooks a while ago off Fleabay auction locally.  I think it was  advertised as Mustad 90o open eye hook. Photo attached. Hook size aprx -  2. Looks like some kind of gang hook with turned eye though the size is small. 

Just wondering if anyone can tell what they are/were used for?

G'day mate. The open eye would definitely indicate being used as a ganged hook but the narrow gape belies that usage unless used for some strip bait. I'll be interested to see what more knowledgeable Raiders think. Cheers, bn

IMO the open eye is not for a gang hook rig because when ganged, these hooks would be 90 degrees out of alignment.

Perhaps its for attaching to an old lure that had a solid ring rather than a split, like some of those old trout spinners.

It looks like it is likely a lure hook -  The eye of the hook is quite large (even in closed position) and would just slip out of the gang - however it would perfectly fit for a ring. On top of that, I just found out that some open-eye hooks were specifically  marketed for lures.

It looks like a lure hook I had to replace the trebles with, it was great for the 3 cast I had it for, then big bite and pop, See Ya lure, back to learning how to tie knots.
