Gandalph
Gday all, am new to site after several years absence due to ill health and non fishing. However we intend to spend approximately 10 days 4wdrivng and fishing in the high country from next Sunday and was wondering if anyone knows of any spots where we could spin a lure or bait fish. The spots would need easy access as I have limited mobility at present, would be happy to just catch and release!
kingie chaser
Welcome to FR Sounds like you would be restricted to lakes really unless there are some steams close to road access? Have a look at these sites, you may get something from them or be able to make contact for info via them? https://www.visitmelbourne.com/Regions/High-Country/Things-to-do/Outdoor-activities/Fishing https://www.victoriashighcountry.com.au/nature/fishing/ Good luck. Fish_More
Gandalph Do some research on a little camping area at Buckwong Hut. One of nicest camping areas I have ever stayed at. No facilities and only a little stream, but have seen people fishing there and bank is not bad access from one side. Good luck with it and very envious. The High Country is a great area of the world and somewhere looking forward to get back to for another trip. Cheers Mark

Undecided if going to the footy this weekend. Not even sure if tickets are still available. Think Glen Willow would be a good place to watch a game, you can get up nice and close! Not a Dragons or Rabbitohs fan. If the Broncos (or any Queensland team was coming to town to beat the Cockroaches), I would be there without a doubt! Missed the grape vine pun. Yes, the red wine is good around here. Can recommend some vineyards if required!

Fish_More
Very envious!!! Blue Rag Range is a good and a little bit challenging drive. Pinnacles is an awesome place to watch a sunset. Do you have any room in your bags for a stowaway?

Gandalph
Thanks for the replies fellas, but had to shelve all plans due to the bushfires. The whole of the Dargo high plains area was closed and still is. We instead headed north of Omeo and did the limestone Rd, Tom Groggin, Mt Pinitabo and Davies High Plain track, which was good fun in a lifted BT50. All the creeks were low, so didnt get a fish in. A great 4wd trip nonetheless, the scenery was fantastic with wild brumbies, roos, black snakes, black cockatoos, gang gang cockatoos, echinda and hordes of kookaburras. Was going to come back via Barry Rd into Jindabyne, but did an alternator belt on Limestone Rd. Getting someone out in that remote area to fix is another story!
