Fish ID please - Piedtip Cucumberfish "Paraulopus okamurai"

Question

Caught in browns mountain, Sydney approx 400m deep

hey, plenty of people catch these around Woy woy area 2251! i just forgot the name of em but.

did you kill the fish? it looks like the gills got snipped.

They are common in Gemfish guts when cleaned, very rough scales and about 100-150mm long, never really worried about what they were called, but I might look it up.

Hi Tony, Im thinking it could be a Piedtip Cucumberfish "Paraulopus okamurai"

I don't think it, is as there are some blue marks near the gills, the photos don't really show the colours properly but it is clearly visible when we caught them, so the correct matched is the banded cucumberfish
