I can't beat that one.   What depth are you squidding in?

I’ve managed 3 flatties, the last one the biggest at 58cm last summer at half tide rocks with a size 2.5 just poking out of his mouth, off the rocks over the last couple years I’ve had a few taps & occasional run from fish

Is that a glow stick? What do you use that for?

Whats even worse is they fight like squid... i was squidding in the hacking on my kayak and thought i had a squid of a lifetime on. came up as a 40+cm pufferfish.

Tailor, kingfish and flatties love squid jigs, with tailor though they cut you off 9/10 times. my weirdest "catch" would be a foul hooked yakka.

Squid attractant, kinda same philosophy as warm jacket jigs.

Glow sticks attract squid - works a treat especially in dirty water. Sydney harbour water has been green and high sediment past few days and only $1.50 for 20 online.

Mmm squid... I haven't gone squidding since before the colder months, do you guys target them all year around and in the same locations all year around?

Lakehead, squid are in the harbour all year round, they do move around from seedbeds to kelpbeds and over sand. At the moment they seem to be in deeper water - 6m +

I have managed to catch a legal snapper on a squid jig, almost caught a fairy penguin too! (little bugger came up with the jig in his mouth but managed to spit it before he hooked himself).

Haha 😂 I never have any bycatch on squid jigs because I don’t use them! I’m hopeless at squid fishing and normally give up after 5 minutes.
