Line for Jew fishing

Hey guys I’ve see a few people catching Jews in the Hawkesbury. I’ve done it in the past and keen to get back into it. I’ve got 2 overhead rods I use for trolling for kings I might use that already has 30 pound Berkeley Big Game mono in blue. My question is would this line be ok for this type of application? I’m going to attach Black Magic fluorocarbon leader in 50 pound. I’m going to use butterfly yellowtail. Any tips GPS marks would also be useful?

I've never fished the hawkesbury but those outfits should be fine if that's what you have. I have no idea on GPS marks and would be surprised if anyone had or gave you any. I would say most guys would use landmarks and their sounder because they are in the river.

I believe some popular areas are around Juno Point, Flint and Steel and the Rail and Road bridges up near Brooklyn. Have a look at how the water moves through the area at the stage of the tide you wish to fish it  (eg run in or run out) and try to visualise how the bottom structure will affect the water flow and where the baitfish may congregate in the area to pin point where you will anchor and present baits.

Just try all the known spots man, you dont need exact gps marks.  Did you have gps marks when you caught them previously??? Even try the spots you used to get them.

You setups will be fine also.

No I didn’t marks before and I’ve only ever caught small soapies.

Dont always think the jew are in the deepest holes    try 6  to 8 mtrs   inside some of the deeper holes

This is good advice.  I gotta decent spot that is 3-4m depending on high or low tide.
