Boating Destinations - Brisbane Area

Hi Guys

I'm new to boating and seeking suggestions for the best places within Brisbane, Sunny & Gold Coast areas where we can take our 25hp Quintrex Estuary Angler Run about.

Looking for somewhere with calming waters where you can pull the boat up to the side and have a picnic etc.

Have been to Bribie but found it a bit choppy and it threw us around everywhere so looking for somewhere calmer.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
