Fires have kicked off again 23 -1- 2020

Just got back from down Jon's way and it certainly is a site of devastation.

The thing that really struck me was how some houses were saved with the burnt out bush beside them.

One place that we had to drive through was Mogo, which like a lot of Villages  on the South Coast was badly affected. Seeing the burnt houses and the ones that were saved thinking someone must have been there fighting the fires in the worst of it. I can't imagine humans being there on the ground at the time but they must have.

I did not take photos of the houses or the bush that was destroyed as Im not into tourism generated by loss.

Sky went bright but we have one about 1k away right now but luckily the wind has slightly dropped. Packing bags._JDP9338.jpg.f778b6a74525ca684d452b1baf9587e5.jpg

Had that very same look at the back of my place in the Blue mountains a few weeks ago. Hopefully it stays away from you.

Southerly kicked in, dodged another bullet but unfortunately the wind turned it back on other properties to our north and I believe more homes were lost. Also road closures again, which is tricky as I'm meant to be taking someone to the airport who got stuck and missed their flights before Xmas.

We were all packed and ready to head to Bermi for the bluewater classic. About 930 last night the committee made the tough decision to cancel the comp as the fires had kicked off again down that way. It was going to be a struggle for us to get down there with road closures etc.

A real shame as the community could really use the cash influx and its our favourite tournament

I believe we had a few injuries from this one.

The road has been opened in both directions which is a relief as I have to get someone to Sydney airport who got stranded from the first fires!!!

This is how close it got yesterday before the wind and temp drop kicked in.

How does it look down there now John? Our AirBNB host is not playing the game and will not cancel our reservation

It's looking good, with good weather conditions for a while ahead. Roads north and south open. Blue sky and no signs of problems locally.

Thats good. 10 mins after I got home from Sydney the road closed behind me just at the back of our place. Sat on the balcony watching this all afternoon.
