Have you ever vatched one of those voyage type shows where the cameras are located say on a large ship & its travels its journey just showing the footage from different camera angles, well this video is a bit like that but way less boring.

Not to much talking which is a good thing.

I watched some of this yesterday & just finished watching the rest today.

Some interesting things on Australian history & other facts in there I didn't know so was interesting.

One comment cracked me up about the fake Loch ness monster(actually the loch ness monster is fake 😅 ) some people put on a salt lake, such an aussies thing to do 😂

Drone footage is pretty sweet as well.

I'd like to do some trips like this eventually but not by train, by 4X4, still Id do the train if I wasn't in a hurry, slower than a plane but with way better views!

If you get a chance watch it on the large screen, warning-goes for 3 hours, hence why I watched it over 2 days :au:

Have done

Adelaide to Perth (INdian Pacific)

Cairns-Brisbane-Sydney-Melbourne-Adelaide (4 different trains.)

About to do Adelaide-Melbourne-Adelaide on Overland, just coz the service is ceasing soon

Booked on the GHan Adelaide -Darwin in June

and looking to complete the Sydney-Adelaide leg of Indian Pacific in next year.

Have also travelled extensively 4WD trips.. used to work for a mining company.

Love the 4WD and train travel... oh and cruises.....

Age and retirement does have some benefits!!

3 hours?

Ha!

try looking up the full trip of the Ghan, goes for 17 hours straight :D

30 second intro video, you will need to do a search for full video

The object wasn't to display if 'yours is bigger than mine' just a train route that deserves some respect on how it actually came to being & the what its like along the journey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you actually watch the video you will se they both share the 1st 350km of the same track.

I guess you missed that bit though?

Would like to see some of that, its always better to see the actual experience over some network video!

Im a fisho but I am also a 4x4 outback traveller want a be.

Comes in line with those wanting to do the 'loop' & how you see what that 'loop' is & how you travel it??

@kingie chaser , hahaaaa....all good, just having a stir,

maybe one day I will actually get to travel some of these mighty train trips.

Both worthy journeys & have their own history but separate identities.

All good, just trying to share some appreciation of our great country 😁
