More 'Bidgee photos

Here are some more pics of the Murrumbidgee taken nearly a year ago. The river levels shown in the pics have become the norm over the past few years. This makes it extremely hard to launch a boat and travel any sort of distance. There are odd days where some irrigation flows are sent down and the river is marginally better for fishing...just have to select the days when you can go fishing and marry them up with the days when a flow occurs. You will notice that the water is not only shallow but crystal clear too. bn

Smart move BN - did you take a GPS with you?? I've never seen the water so clear. My father talks about sight casting to fish in the Bidgee and the Lachlan.

You could certainly sight cast the Carp as they cruise the shallow edges, that's for sure. Never use a GPS.

Bloody Carp!! Looks like downstream of The Point in the Forest. Hopefully there are some Cod left for you. How does Lake Wyangan look now??

Plenty of Cod around although mostly undersized. All of the pics are from areas between Narrandera and Gogelderie. Lake Wyangan would be very low by now Here's a few pics from 6 months ago. bn

We would "sight cast" to the carp in the channels on the farm - at 2000 feet per second. Lots of small cod is still encouraging. There must be a couple of bigguns in there somewhere

Plenty of the biguns too but they are a LOT MORE CUNNING. Mate and I caught a 100cm and 120cm Cod within 20 mins of each other. He actually caught them and my biggest is still 79cms. bn
