Edogz
Hi guys, i occasionally fish around Sydney in 50 to 100m of water just outside the heads. I am looking for a rod to pair with my Saragossa 8000sw (50lb braid) reel and saltist 6500(50lb mono) I always bottom fish and the main intention of the rod will be for that, but I am also interested in jigging, are there any recommendations you guys can give that will marry up to my reels for this style of fishing. Seafarer5
Depending on your budget the shimano t curve deep jig range would be perfect. I think they are around $
wcurrall
Recently purchased a Daiwa Saltist Winn jig spin, cost $200 and very happy. 25-30kg, 6’4”, 150g-250g lure weight. First fish was a 70kg black marlin and handled it easily, very happy with it.

A mate is trying it with his Saragosa 10000 tomorrow also chasing marlin so will let you know how it holds up

Edogz
Hi guys thanks for the advice . I ended up picking up a Daiwa saltist hyper 6ft 4in for $215 from a shop after price matching from a competitors website (rrp $280). Feels nice and balanced when paired up with the Saragossa 8000. Can't wait to have a crack with it on the boat this weekend . Edited March 19, 2020 by Edogz Size of rod
