Any suggestions for beach worms in and around Umina Beach

Took my 4 year old on a beach worming catching adventure Friday 5pm. First time for the fam and I armed myself with some pre research via YouTube vids, some pliers and a stocking filled with some stinky pillies. Went down to Umina Beach near the Ocean Beach SLC. Didn't get any worms to pop their lil heads up. Did get a heap of Pippi's though.

Can you get beach worms at Umina or any of the other local beaches? Want to hit up Patonga Creek this afternoon and go after some whiting.

Do you mean Kilcare surf beach?

Yes PL but more towards the Putty beach end where it flattens off rather than the steep drop off at the Southern end.

A couple of tips, low tide, flat section of beach, not steep, fine sand, not shell grit/coarse sand.
