Thanks for sharing Donna.

i must say I am surprised a course like this is HECS funded and run through a Uni. It would appear this is aimed more at hobbyists rather than aspiring knowledge workers. I think our taxes could be better spent elsewhere.

It is only a unit that is part of a Diploma of Sustainable Living

What the experts say...

"If only there was a course like the Science of Fishing back in the 80's, when I was a keen young angler with a driving thirst for knowledge. Back then, all I could do was read the same book over and over.

If you are like me, you probably spend more time fishing than actually catching. It is in these quiet times that I often reflect on some of the big questions: What makes fish feed? Where are you most likely to find them? What is the most sustainable fish to take?

Thanks to this course people will gain the answers to all these and more and have the chance to become more educated, more responsible and better anglers.

This is a game changer!"

I wish there was something like this when I left school! 😎

I’d almost consider doing this unit at my late stage in life. 🤔 Do you think if I did a research project on, say, snapper fishing, I’d be able to claim soft plastics, line, other tackle and fuel purchases etc. as a tax deduction? 🤔😎😂
Another possible benefit... “”Sorry dear. Yes, I have to go fishing. Really! It’s a course requirement!”

I looked at the course. Looks like 12 months of study to learn how to live off grid.

The science of fishing is great but when they close down all the recreational fishing areas for habitat/sanctuary zones it will all mean didley s squat.

You only have to look at what could have happened 18 months ago if certain political parties got there way & we would all be vertual fishing right now!
