Watch out for surfers!!!

Another walk up the beach with the kids in search of salmon action didn't take long to find a few rewards. Pretty much every gutter along Brou beach had them, some gutters we could only pick a couple of fish from before moving to the next gutter. As usual walking and flicking soon locates the mother load and once found it was fish after fish.

The last three trips up there dolphins have turned up for a quick surf. My hope had been to hopefully be in the right place at the right time and have the camera ready. You don't get much of a chance as they might only ride one or two waves before heading off, so I was quite happy to get a few quick shots and hopefully get better ones another time.

The dolphins haven't stopped the fish from biting on any occasion, neither have big bronzies in the past.

Great photos.

I had some around my boat yesterday, smaller ones around 5 foot long, dark grey with distinctive large light brown patches along the sides. Don't know all of the species.

Great part of the world, bloody cold though obviously the fish don’t mind it or yourself.

I hate the cold, Im further up the beach with thick socks and boots on. I might be a pom but Im built for the tropics this time of the year!!!

Great pics Jon

A lot of fishos get aggravated when the dolphins show up, but at least it shows the bait is there, even though their prey is often the same species you're chasing.

Your beach looks to have plenty of nice structure and there's always another gutter holding fish.

Hi Jon,

Those dolphins saved my uncles session at North Bar beach a week or so ago.  He could see salmon but they were beyond reach in the waves, then the dolphins moved in and pushed the salmon inshore and he got 5 stonkers in quick succession.

Great photos.

It's funny, Ive seen people pack up and go home because of dolphins but for me they are another piece in the jigsaw when fishing, especially offshore searching for tuna.

My bad if it’s not your son

No that's my boy with a smaller tailor. He caught three over 80cm on the first day before getting the bigger one after dark.

What was that in ? Was it a magazine or a newspaper ?

Thought so, it’s the July edition of the “monthly fishing magazine” it covers the east coast & now WA as well, size of a small newspaper with a glossy cover
