Flatly grounds Terrigal

Peeps,

Been heading off Terrigal in search of a few flatties. Fished in the 40m mark east of Terrigal however couldn’t find a patch. Fishing a running rig with half pilles.

Looking for a hand finding some consistent flatly grounds off Terrigal any tips re depths, rigs and bait would be helpful.

Running rig for flathead in 40m is not the right rig in my opinion. Yes you might catch a few but if you really want to bag a few change over.to the paternoster.

Flathead sit on the sand with eyes on the top of their head looking upwards. A bait sitting on th sand will be hard for them to find.

An elevated bait on a paternoster rig will do you much better service

Saw an ex pro fisher at the ramp the other day with a couple of kids on board, they managed to get their 30 bag limit over 5 hours

He mentioned starting at the 50m line & had to keep moving til he found the bigger ones & more consistency at 70m & also mentioned the current wasn’t running hard
