tangle
Could you give an opinion about where fresh water is flowing in Kore Kore Creek at Port Stephens? One person says it is salt water to 1km. upstream from the mouth. There are rock-shelf rapids at 4km upstream which would be fresh. Then at what distance along the creek is it fresh water? Sailing ships used to call in for fresh water at Pt Stephens and maybe used Kore Kore creek for supplying it.
mrsswordfisherman
Perhaps there is someone that can hazard a guess re this one?
tangle
I appreciate the tolerance here in letting me post. However, it's about history research and it would be useful to have facts rather than a guess. The creek meanders the last 2 kms to the bay so the straight section above that is possibly a downhill flow of fresh water to the flatter land with saltwater. Then rowing a boat for 2kms would be not so difficult , up on the flood and back on ebb.
