tryc
Hi folks I recently cleaned an old bait-caster I had sitting in my shed. I pulled both sides off and cleaned the inside, but didn't disassemble the drag at all. However, now that I've put it back together (I'm fairly certain I put it back properly) the drag isn't working. I mean there is no give on the line regardless of how the drag is set. Anyone got any idea why this may be happening? Thanks Tryc
noelm
To state the obvious, if it was OK before, then you have assembled it wrong, does the spool still turn OK? does the handle still wind OK? is the drag locked or just free?
Green Hornet
Sounds to me like something hasn't been aligned properly when your put the handle side, cover plate back on. Did the screws go back in easily and just need nipping up, or was there a bit of resistance on the last few turns? Either that or the metal drag washers haven't been replaced correctly over the spindle key.
