Fish I'd Sydney deep water (Anthiases Subfamily)

Hoping some one can id this fish

Approx 3kg

Caught in 120m of water off Sydney

Unfortunately, because of the distorted head and only the approx size and weight, the people in the know can only give a ID as "Genus Hypoplectrode a member of Anthiases Subfamily"

Looks like some sort of banded perch?

 

Not sure but if I can't identify a fish & I won't eat it.

There's two species that are very similar, the "Deep Water Sea Perch" and the "Banded Sea Perch" I think one has only 4 stripes or bands, the other has more, seeing this was caught in deep water, my guess is the Deep Water variety, I will have a look at the book later to confirm either way.
