Recent adventures - Central Coast NSW

So with Lockdown meaning we cannot take any classes, but that doesnt mean I have stopped fishing altogether.... With my new tackle shop underway and stocking some awesome new lures here in the central coast has kept me busy and I have been sticking to local adventures around my local creek solo testing out some new lures from Aussie lure makers like Low Tide Lures, Munroes Lures, HM Lures, Madmic's Lures and also using The Jigman Jigheads which are all awesome to ouse- matched with some Dizzy Scent and we have a winning formula.

All these fish were captured within 5mins of my house in feeder creeks and often right under houses so its encouraging to see some great fishing in the middle of winter.

Thanks guys I have caught around 25 Mullet in the last 6 weeks all on lures from the same stretch of creek- the biggest going a whopping 57cm which was on a Zman Grub motoroil 2" down to a little 10cm poddy which took a HM Lures FB35 crank only the day before yesterday... Have never caught so many mullet before esp this time of year- so they are sticking to the creeks. The few I have kept for strip baits have been full of roe and milt so they didnt spawn at all between May and late June which is when they traditionally head our of the rivers and offshore to breed. A few Bass and EP have come in but not in numbers or the size of last year at the same time- I am guessing the floods earlier this year mucked around with their breeding cycles.

Always a good sign when you catch different fish on different days from the same locations- the creek is really inn good shape but last year was the best I have seen since moving from Sydney back up the coast.

Winter is usually pretty slow, but at least I have the Mullet giving me some good workouts even on 15lb chasing big flatties they go hard and are a real handful to get to the bank, I have never seen my 2500 Tierra scream like that 57cm model.

Hopefully convert the mullet to something a bit better on the plate this weekend off the beaches.

Tight lines ya'all

Anthony

Seems like there is a fairly healthy EP population in the creeks down there? @reelaxation

Yeah at different times they seem to show up- I am no expert some days I get em on the run out and other days and different spots produce on the run in tide. hard to pick where they will be so just keep changing lures and walking/changing spots till you find them really
