aussieflash
Unfortunately my Haines Hunter V17 must go. Transom is removed and cleaned out. Needs someone to replace marine ply. Trailer included and V6  Mercury 135 HP Outboard seperate. If anyone is keen let me know. 👍
JonD
The "Old school haines boats Facebook" often has people looking for them if you don't have any luck here. I was pretty keen on doing one up myself but after viewing a few and costing the rebuild, repower decided against it.
Rebel
Pity to see it go. They were one of the better boats years ago and still are. Some of them are bringing good money.
noelm
Unfortunately, regardless of how good they were perceived to be, they were very poorly constructed (like plenty of other "legendary" boats) and most just rotted to bits, requiring very costly, time consuming rebuilds. Rebel
I disagree. Over the years I had a Crestcuter, Haines 16c, two 4.5M Hintons. All great boats. Never had a problem with any of them. Built better than some boats today. Cheers.
zmk1962
I’m with @Rebelon this one. I’m still conquering offshore with my Haines 635  (pre covid)… purchased in 1996.  If you install things properly (preserve the water proof barrier) and look after them in general  … they will look after you. cheers Zoran
noelm
Next you will be telling me the old Seafarer VC and Vikings were well built!
aussieflash
Here’s some pics of the old girl. Motor had no issues and used to push the heavy beast with ease.
noelm
Bugger of a job doing it from the outside.
Rebel
@aussieflashIf you have a look around on the Net, there are people rebuilding boats like yours. Some are for sale with a good price on them, they are a popular boat. Cheers.
