Bate Bay

Was heading out with my mate to Bate Bay this arvo, but he bailed so I headed out myself this morning.

Plenty of spikies at first, then a couple of just legal blue spots until I drifted out a bit past Kurnell, where I found a couple of better ones. When I hit deeper water, the rig was bitten off above the swivel, no bite so probably a jacket. Fortunately no others.

Only 1 fish in the deeper water, so headed back in a bit and found a couple more, then headed home with my limit. The biggest at 54cm.

Early on, the wind and swell was short and sharp from the N/E, left over from yesterday. Wind will be chopping it up again later on.

Very nice haul Yowie

You beat the crowds and still got the fillets:)

Thank you. Not too many boats outside this morning, so plenty of room to fish.

Who would of thought Yowie fishes weekends.Well done as usual mate.Cant wait to use that sling shot on you.😂😂

Don't normally fish weekends, but had to go whether my mate was going or not.

As for that sling shot, I have a R.P.G. in my boat. :074:

Great report - as always. Blue spots =🙂🙂

Had a nice feed tonight, daughter and S.I.L. turned up and helped with the eating part - I did the cooking part. 😂

Yes, a few meals out of that lot.

Nice 👍

Do you use those ganged long shanks on a paternoster?

No, only single long shank hooks. Too dangerous with ganged hooks and flatties swinging their heads about if there is a double hook up.

With the weather looking good on Friday I thought I might find you on the Hacking, you had another plan so I was able to catch some of your fish. Thanks.

Nice catch of blue spots.

Thanks Bruce. Had planned to head out with my mate on Saturday arvo, only day he could go, but he bailed out, so I headed out myself knowing the weather would be no good for a few days.
