PVC anchor holder

I have a piece of PVC pipe 100mm x 1m and looking to make a holder for my anchor. Has any one done this   and have a photo of how the top of the pipe is cut or not. I have 2 stainless steel hose clamps for fitting to the rail. I have seen this done at the boat ramp but never bother to take a photo.

I had that arrangement for years prior to installing the anchor winch. I only used it to carry the reef pick. The main anchor was held in place in the bow roller. 
 

The danforth anchor in your picture is quite heavy. Make the pipe long enough to ensure the anchor is not hitting your top deck.

Thanks, I am going to make sure that it is long and put a cap on the bottom with to let the water.

Just make sure you secure the PVC properley.

I hope your'e storing it without the chain attached?

I have a chain sock that goes along  the chain to protect the side of the boat and makes it quieter as well when pulling up the anchor. The picture shows the sock off.

Good one Norm, other than a winch setup, there doesn’t seem any other “ideal” anchor holding mechanism - I’m surprised that the boat manufacturers haven’t come up with an initiative.
